***Method #1      Stained Glass Look Quilts- Wall hangings - Art quilts***

These quilts are pieced and the "leading", which is black cotton folded bias, is carefully stitched over the sewn seam lines to give the stained glass look to the quilt.  The quilt top is layered with a batting and backing,  then machine quilted  to create a soft and eye appealing  quilt.

***Method #2      Stained Glass Look Quilts- Wall hangings - Art quilts***

Black  kona cotton is used as the backing and base for the stained glass look. Pieces of 100% cotton fabric are carefully place and fused with a lightweight fusible to hold the design during stitching. A blanket stitch is used to secure all edges of each piece of fabric used in the design.  A translucent clear or dark thread is used, whichever blends better to the fabric.  The stitching serves to secure the design as well as quilt together all the layers, including the batting and backing. This style of stained glass look quilting allows for more freedom and flow in the design.

***Method #3       Stained Glass Look Quilts- Wall hangings - Art quilts***

This method is done by actual sewing or piecing the 'leading' into the block while I sew each block or portion of the quilt.  No fusing or folded bias is used.  These Stained Glass quilts
will have more of a traditional quilt look to them, most likely using traditional quilt block designs.
